How accurate is AsianCal?
AsianCal achieves 85%+ accuracy on Asian dishes — significantly better than generic calorie apps which typically have 30-50% error rates on Asian cuisine. Our accuracy improves over time as more users contribute corrections.
What cuisines are supported?
We currently support Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Malaysian, Singaporean, Indonesian, and Filipino cuisine. We're adding more every month.
Is my food photo stored on your servers?
No. Your photos are sent to our AI for analysis and immediately discarded. We never permanently store your meal photos. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I use AsianCal for free?
Yes! You get 3 free photo scans to try the app. After that, choose a monthly ($4.99/mo) or annual ($29.99/yr) plan for unlimited scans.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel anytime through your App Store subscription settings: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → AsianCal → Cancel. You'll retain access until the end of your billing period.
What if AsianCal gets a dish wrong?
Tap on the result to correct it. Your correction helps improve the AI for everyone. You can also search our database of 1,780+ Asian dishes manually.
Does AsianCal work offline?
The photo analysis requires an internet connection. However, you can browse your meal history and nutrition logs offline.
Is AsianCal a medical app?
No. AsianCal provides nutrition estimates for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and should not replace professional dietary advice.
